Purepur Kolhapur II

Purepur Kolhapur - Pune

I've always like Purepur Kolhapur and it seems so does everyone else. But I had avoided it for some time due to the long lines snaking out of the tiny place opposite Mehendale Garage, especially during the weekend lunch hour.
Thus, after a long hiatus I decided to try it out again. I'll spare you the long winded post and head right to the 'meat' of the post (ha ha).
 - mutton thaali (taat) is still pretty good
 - purepur kolhapur gets its onions from some dream farm where they are just perfect - fresh, pungent, sweet
 - pandhra rassa still sucks .. too much coconut ..

If you are looking to take some delicious kolhapuri food home then opt for their kheema .. its perfectly cooked, flavoured and is not messy to eat at home!

Deccan Rendezvous - Glass Window

Deccan Rendezvous - Glass Window, Pune

I recently had the chance to try out Glass Window again. My last experience at Deccan Rendezvous was quite a pleasant one. This time we had good company, but the food disappointed. I recalled that the French Onion soup was excellent the last time around - so I sampled it again, this time it failed to live up to the mark (or maybe my expectations were too high). The other soups were also so-so. The starters were good, the main dishes were just okay (Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Lasagna). The drinks however, were pretty good.

Deccan Rendezvous is in the place of the old Hotel Surya, off Apte Road.

Hobee's

Hobee's Restaurant, Mountain View CA

I had my eye on Hobee's for a long time. Its barely noticeable - at the corner of Rengstroff Ave and Central Expressway. I checked up Hobee's online and was immediately interested. I love going to these family owned type places .. they always have something nice to offer.
The manu is decent with a variety of omelettes, scrambles and sandwiches. I have never tried the pasta dishes available as I always go for the omelette or the scramble with a generous helping of their coffee cake. They have a smallish salad bar if you are into that kind of thing. Sometimes in the week i just have a big craving for their stuff .. so come Saturday or Sunday morning I imagine myself having just completed a nice hike and then go to Hobee's for brunch.
